Austria's first bike park opened in 2001. The Leoganger Bergbahnen opened four lines in Pinzgau. The operators counted 16,700 mountain rides in the first season. A quarter of a century later, the EPIC Bikepark Leogang records 270,000 rides per bike summer. The number of routes has grown to 21 lines and trails. With the Riders Playground completed in 2013, there are now even 30 different descents available.

Flat tyre during the World Cup run. No reason for Gwin to slam on the brakes. He rolls on - and impressively fast. And the rim held up.
No way: Gwin again. Shortly after the start of his World Cup run, Aaron Gwin looks at his bottom bracket ... bang! The chain has come off. But Gwin leaves the brakes open and the live commentators can hardly get over it when they see that he is not losing speed. On the contrary: "It's green!", they shout - alluding to the split times. Gwin takes one of the most sensational World Cup victories of all time in Leogang.
It hasn't been this wet during a World Championships for a long time. In 2020, the rain turned the downhill in Leogang into a mud slide. These training runs show just how extreme the conditions actually were. Take a look for yourself.
