Area 47, Austria's largest outdoor leisure park, is located on the 47th parallel and at the entrance to the Ötztal valley. The large water sports facilities are of course closed in winter, but there are halls that are heated to summer-sun-cactus temperatures in the darker months of the year: High ropes course, bungee jumping and, fortunately, the indoor bike park!
The large hall was originally designed for concerts, but it was then decided to house a winterised flowline, jumpline and a large pump track. 3700 square metres for a never-ending bike summer. Events are also held there regularly. From children's and youth sessions to the Pump Track World Championships, as in summer 2023.
On 29 November, the "German Pumptrack Series" and the "Austrian Pumptrack Series" will meet here for the first ever "Pumptrack Winter Trophy". It will be exciting to see how the professionals and up-and-coming talent from the German delegation will fare, as while the German race series with its eight stages was held for the first time this year, the format has already existed in Austria for nine years.
If you want to stay overnight, the Area 47 site has guest rooms and lodges, spacious spectator stands and an ice bath to cool off in after the race.
Incidentally, Area 47 with its indoor bike park is open all winter and is perfect for a weekend trip. Perhaps even as a ski-bike combination. Awaiting you:
Admission: Day ticket 32 euros, children from 23 euros. Two-hour ticket: 22 euros,
Entire hall hire: 480 euros
