Moustache has launched a recall campaign for carbon forks. The affected bike models are "Friday 28", "Dimanche 28" and "Dimanche 29" manufactured between 2018 and 2024. Moustache has discovered that in some cases the carbon forks could have cracks or fractures in the steerer tube. So far, eight incidents have been reported out of 10,000 bicycles recalled.
The industry magazine SAZ Bike cites the French manufacturer as the reason for this, citing production deviations that lead to the carbon thickness on the steerer tube varying and not corresponding to the original properties. There is a risk of breakage with prolonged use or under certain conditions.
The company has carried out tests to isolate the problem and identify the affected batches. To minimise the risk to its customers, Moustache has now initiated a voluntary recall and launched an information campaign for all Moustache retailers.
The recall is also displayed on the homepage of the Moustache website. There is also an information newsletter for end customers and multilingual information via Moustache's social media channels.
On Moustache's dedicated page, you can enter the relevant frame number to check whether your bike is affected: All information on the Recall campaign can be found here.
