Hardly any other mountain bike has shaped the sport as much as the Specialized Stumpjumper. Just in time for the company's 50th anniversary, the US label presented the 15th generation of the "Stumpi" last year. Now comes an update - Evo for everyone! The facelift in concrete terms: Piggyback shock, 160 mm fork & higher cockpit.

The 15th generation Specialized Stumpjumper left nothing to be desired and set the all-rounder bar really high in the BIKE test. However, the new Fox shock with Specialized's patented Genie technology in combination with the 150 mm suspension fork was not entirely convincing.

Specialized didn't take this flaw lying down and decided without further ado to deliver all current models (model year 2026) with a new, thicker rear shock and 160 mm fork - Evo for everyone!

Specialised Stumpjumper 15 Evo (MY26) - what's new?

The new Specialized may not be completely new - but from now on it's always Evo! The changes at a glance:

Suspension & geometry

  1. Fork160 mm suspension travel (previously 150 mm)
  2. DamperFox Float X Genie with Piggyback (replaces the standard Float damper with Genie)
  3. Geometry: Steering angle is flatter by 0.5º (due to longer fork)

Control & contact points

  1. Cockpit: Higher handlebars for more control, comfort and trail experience
  2. TyresUpdated Butcher and Eliminator combination for improved grip and confidence

With the update, Specialized want to have finally turned the Stumpjumper into a true all-rounder bike with extra bite, which not even our test rider should be able to find fault with. Let's wait and see!

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
