Accessories manufacturer SKS Germany from Sundern presents the Infinity Urban Trunkbag and the expandable Trunkbag XL, two new pannier bags for urban use. The new models complement the company's existing Urban bag range and are designed to impress with a combination of modern design and sophisticated functionality. Both bags have been designed in the uniform look of the Urban series and are made of high-quality, water-repellent material that is designed to reliably protect the contents from moisture. According to the manufacturer, the panniers fit perfectly on their own Infinity universal pannier rack, but can also be securely attached to all standard pannier rack models from other manufacturers. The bags are supplied with shortenable Hypalon Velcro straps for mounting, which should enable tool-free and secure attachment.
A special feature of the new panniers is their versatility when it comes to mounting. In addition to the Velcro straps supplied, various adapter plates from common systems can also be fitted as an alternative. The bags are compatible with the mounting systems from MIK, AVS, MonkeyLoad, Racktime, XLC iRack and Klickfix. This mounting versatility makes the panniers a flexible solution for cyclists who already have a pannier rack or want to switch between different bikes. The tool-free mounting also allows the bag to be removed quickly when the bike is parked or when the bag is not needed. This flexibility is particularly advantageous in urban environments, where bicycles often have to be parked in public spaces and theft protection plays an important role.
The two new models are designed for different purposes. The Infinity Urban Trunkbag According to SKS, it is particularly suitable for city strolls or daily commutes. It offers enough space for the most important everyday utensils and its compact design means it doesn't get in the way even on shorter journeys. The Trunkbag XL, on the other hand, is aimed at cyclists who need additional storage space. It combines a spacious main compartment with two fold-out zip side pockets. This design allows the volume of the bag to be flexibly adapted to the respective requirements. The side pockets can be folded out as required to create additional storage space, for example for larger purchases or extended weekend trips. If less space is required, the side pockets can be folded in to create a more compact format.
Product Manager Nikolas Bosen from SKS Germany explains the development philosophy behind the new bags:
The aim was to combine functionality and flexibility.
This objective is reflected in the design of the bags, which takes both practical aspects and aesthetic considerations into account. By integrating them into the existing Urban series, the bags follow a standardised design concept that combines a modern look with everyday functionality. According to Bosen, both bags are "real all-rounders in terms of versatility and storage space, ideal for the requirements of modern urban mobility." The bags have been specially developed to meet the needs of city cyclists who require a reliable and flexible transport system for their daily journeys. The water-repellent materials are designed to ensure that the contents remain protected even in the event of sudden rain showers.
The new panniers Infinity Urban Trunkbag and Trunkbag XL are now available from specialist retailers and the SKS Germany OrangeStore. The manufacturer has provided a YouTube tutorial for anyone interested in finding out more about fitting and handling the bags. https://youtu.be/c5tElpA2DzM
