Designed, developed and manufactured in Belgium, the new Ahooga folding bikes remain true to the brand's core philosophy: low weight, high agility, a geometry inspired by BMX bikes and seamless integration into everyday life. According to the manufacturer, all of this is combined in a bike that can be folded to the size of a suitcase: a folding bike.
At the heart of every Ahooga bike is a rigid aluminium diamond frame with geometry inspired by BMX bikes. This design is intended to ensure fast acceleration, precise handling and an agile, fun-orientated riding experience.
Despite their sporty orientation, the Ahooga bikes have been consistently developed for everyday use. Folded up in just a few seconds, they can be stowed away in homes, offices, trains, car boots or buses, making them suitable for multimodal mobility in urban areas.
According to the manufacturer, the adjustable seating position, numerous comfort and transport options and a maximum payload of 120 kilograms make the new models equally suitable for the daily commute to work, weekend trips and exploring the city.
Despite their performance-orientated concept, all four models can be folded to a size of just 72 × 69 × 37 centimetres - according to Ahooga, the most compact folding size of all 20-inch folding bikes on the market. This makes them small enough to be discreetly stowed away like luggage or easily combined with public transport.
Ahooga is presenting numerous technical improvements for all four models. The revised electrical system on the e-models is intended to provide smoother support and optimised range management. In addition, the weight of the already lightweight models has been reduced by up to 2 kilograms, which should make them easier to carry and stow.
Improved gear ratios for analogue and electric models are intended to enable more versatile riding. The new E-Max front projection headlight is seamlessly integrated and is designed to ensure greater safety and visibility. In addition, Ahooga is focussing on higher quality components with a focus on durability, reliability and ride quality.
Alongside the introduction of the four new models, Ahooga is launching the new Custom Program, which offers customers extensive customisation options. There are 20 frame colours to choose from, different colours for the main and rear frames, glossy or matt surfaces, a choice of size and colour for the Ahooga logo and the option to personalise the frame with your own text. According to the manufacturer, the Custom Programme reflects the conviction that a folding bike is far more than just a mobility tool - it is a personal companion that moves with you through everyday life.
The Max series from Ahooga was presented on an international stage last weekend: at Velofollies, Belgium's largest annual bicycle trade fair.
