The two new models from Corratec are characterised by low entry-level frames, versatile geometry and high-quality components. With the Life CX8 Belt and the Life S P6, Corratec presents two e-bikes that have been designed for different user groups.
Developed in collaboration with sports physician Dr Ludwig Geiger, the models combine design and sophisticated functionality and are aimed at cyclists who attach particular importance to comfort and safety in everyday life or on leisure tours. The bikes are specially designed for commuting, everyday routes or relaxed tours in the countryside and are characterised by reliability, comfort and easy handling. With the Life series, Corratec wants to appeal to a broad target group, including people with health restrictions or people who want to get back into cycling after a long break.
The Life CX8 Belt is positioned as the flagship of the series and has been specially developed to maximise riding comfort. The low entry makes it particularly easy to get on and off, which can be a decisive advantage for people with limited mobility.
According to the manufacturer, the frame geometry specially developed by Corratec should ensure a high level of stability and make it easier to get off the bike in any situation. A special feature of the model is the authorised system weight of an impressive 180 kilograms, making it suitable for larger and heavier people or for rides with a large payload. The low-maintenance belt drive from Gates contributes to the long service life and low maintenance requirements.
Collaboration with sports physician Dr Ludwig Geiger played a key role in the development of the Life series. "The special frame construction with a low entry makes it easier to climb, distributes the body weight optimally and relieves the spine and joints," explains Geiger.
The continuous dialogue between the doctor and Corratec has helped to adapt the bikes specifically to the needs of people with health restrictions. In addition to comfort, safety was also at the centre of development. The upright riding position provides a good overview in traffic and at the same time relieves strain on the back, which is particularly beneficial on longer journeys.
The Life CX8 Belt is equipped with the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System which provides powerful support even on demanding routes. The PowerTube battery with 800 Wh capacity integrated horizontally in the frame promises long ranges.
Power transmission is provided by a Gates Carbon Drive belt drive in combination with a continuously variable Enviolo Trekking hub gear, which promises particularly quiet and smooth riding behaviour.
The hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro with large brake discs (203/180 millimetres) ensure reliable deceleration even with a heavy load. Suspension is provided by an SR Suntour Mobie34-D suspension fork with 100 millimetres of travel, which is designed to effectively absorb uneven ground.
Corratec has paid particular attention to the contact points between rider and bike. The SQ Lab 621 Ergolux saddle was specially designed for an upright riding position and is intended to reduce pressure points in the perineal area. The handlebars and stem come from ergonomics specialist Ergotec and are designed to maximise comfort.
The riser handlebar with 25 degree backsweep allows a natural hand position, while the special stem ensures an upright riding position. The tyres with Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres in a width of 60 millimetres offer additional riding comfort thanks to the large air volume and good damping properties.
As the second model in the Life series, Corratec presents the Life S P6 in a new guise, which is characterised by its compact design and universal adaptability. The special feature of this model is the clever frame geometry, which makes it suitable for people between 150 and 190 centimetres tall - without having to compromise on comfort or handling.
According to the manufacturer, the geometry of the 20-inch bike allows you to stand securely with both feet on the ground at all times, which is particularly advantageous for beginners, everyday cyclists or anyone who wants more control. The compact design also ensures manoeuvrable riding behaviour and easy handling in city traffic.
The Life S P6 is equipped with the Bosch Performance Line Smart System and a 600 Wh PowerTube battery. Power is transmitted via a 5-speed Shimano Nexus hub gear system, which is characterised by low maintenance and reliability. The hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano (MT200 with 180/160 millimetre brake discs) provide deceleration.
The eye-catching Schwalbe Super Moto-X tyres with a width of 70 millimetres not only offer a striking look, but also a high level of riding comfort thanks to their large air volume. The Bosch Purion 200 display enables intuitive operation of the drive system and provides all important riding information at a glance.
The Corratec Life CX8 Belt is available in the colour combinations Dark Grey/Silver/Red or Silver/Dark Grey/Red and is offered in the frame sizes 40, 47, 53 and 57 centimetres at a price of 5499 euros.
The Corratec Life S P6 is sold in one size, which is suitable for a wide range of body sizes thanks to the special frame geometry. It is available in the colour combinations Dark Grey/Red/Black or Silver/Grey/Red/Black for 3499 euros.
