More power, more endurance: The TQ HPR 60 motor is the latest update in the Rapcon :eTQ and Silk 365 :eLight models from Simplon. Both bikes combine a natural riding experience with quiet assistance, ideal for versatile use. Simplon continues to offer customisation options via the online configurator.

Simplon presents its updated Rapcon :eTQ and Silk 365 :eLight models, equipped with the brand new TQ HPR 60 motor. This revised drive, made in Germany, promises a natural riding experience and at the same time offers harmonious support - all in almost silent operation. Performance, display and heat resistance have been noticeably improved compared to the previous motor.

Simplon Rapcon & Silk 365 - now with the brand new TQ HPR 60 motor

The centrepiece of the new Simplon bikes is the revised TQ HPR 60 light e-bike motor, which is more than just a facelift compared to its predecessor - it offers more of everything: more torque and more power. Efficiency has been improved, noise levels have been further minimised and an optimised cooling concept has been implemented. These innovations now guarantee reliable performance in continuous operation.

  • Maximum torque: 60 Nm (+10 Nm - corresponds to a power increase of 20 %)
  • Engine power: up to 350 watts (+50 W - corresponds to an increase of 17 %)
  • Max. Support: 200 %
  • Improved cooling concept for higher thermal stability and stability
  • Increased efficiency
  • Reduced noise emissions for even quieter operation
  • New colour display for customised screens and better readability

The new TQ engine has already impressed us in the test:

At first glance, the update of the TQ engine may seem like a half-hearted facelift. However, TQ was actually able to eliminate the relevant weaknesses of its predecessor - without losing any of its strengths. The unit thus sets an exclamation mark in the 'mid-power engine' segment. Extremely quiet and compact, sufficiently powerful, with good range and stability - an ingenious mix! - Florentin Vesenbeckh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief BIKE Magazine

Simplon Rapcon :eTQ - the best of both worlds

Simplon's Light E-MTB Rapcon is an excellent e-mountainbike with modern geometry, a forgiving chassis and balanced riding characteristics. With the new TQ drive, it retains the natural, but now slightly more powerful thrust. The increased range of the TQ HPR 60 compared to its predecessor, the HPR 50, plus the higher stability under continuous load should largely eliminate the biggest weakness of the previous Rapcon series.

With 160 mm rear suspension travel from air or steel dampers and a choice of 160 or 170 mm forks, the latest Rapcon model is more likely to inherit the Enduro model with its strong downhill performance. The extra boost from the new motor should make up further points in the uphill classification in the future.

At the same time, it is good that the range of the TQ HPR 60 has been increased. This is because the new Rapcon :eTQ also remains rather minimalist and has the 360 Wh battery permanently installed in the frame. Only the optionally available range extender with 160 Wh offers more room for manoeuvre for longer tours.

The new Simplon Rapcon :eTQ is available in 4 equipment packages (Core, Expert, Expert AXS, Ultimate) at prices starting from 7499 euros, which, like all Simplon bikes, can be customised to personal preferences in the configurator.

The premium city e-bike Simplon Silk also gets the new TQ HPR 60 transplant. Simplon also refreshes the Silk city e-bike

The premium city e-bike Simplon Silk 365 :eLight also gets the new TQ HPR 60 transplant. As this hardly affects the appearance of the bike, the Silk 365 :eLight and its elaborate and lightweight carbon frame continue to impress with their slim design, modern technology and high-quality details.

The completely redesigned TQ HPR 60 motor, now with 60 Nm torque and increased range, enhances the already high quality of the Simplon city bike, which probably lives up to the efficiency concept even more down to the last detail.

The 360 Wh battery integrated in the frame is still not removable, but together with the optional 160 Wh range extender, it should be possible to achieve practical ranges for everyday urban use and beyond.

The bike is available in 4 equipment packages at a price starting at 5699 euros (Essential, Selection, Selection HD, Premium) and can be customised in typical Simplon fashion - from low-maintenance belt drive and hub gears to suspension forks or studded tyres for off-road excursions. Depending on the equipment and configuration, the Silk 365 :eLight starts at a total weight of approx. 18.8 kilograms according to the manufacturer.

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
