Risk of breakage on Bianchi gravel bikes: Stem/handlebar unit must be replaced

The traditional Italian manufacturer Bianchi has announced an important recall for its Impulso RC series gravel bikes. The reason for this measure is a safety problem with the standard carbon stem/handlebar unit. During internal quality checks, a risk of breakage was identified, which poses a significant risk of falls for riders. The affected bikes must therefore no longer be ridden until the component has been replaced. The recall affects all Impulso RC modelssold until 20 November 2025. Bianchi has published detailed information about the recall on its company website and is offering affected customers a free rebuild of the problematic component.

Identification of the affected models

Owners of a Bianchi Impulso RC can use certain product codes to check whether their bike is affected by the recall. The relevant models can be identified using the product codes YTB84 and YUB80 to YUB81. In addition, the affected stem and handlebar units themselves can be recognised using the product codes C2306238 and C2306226. These codes are attached directly to the components. The manufacturer recommends that all owners of a Bianchi Impulso RC purchased by the deadline of 20 November 2025 check the product codes and contact an authorised Bianchi dealer immediately if they match. For safety reasons, the affected bikes should no longer be used until the components have been replaced.

Free replacement at the specialist dealer

Bianchi will cover the full cost of replacing the problematic stem/handlebar unit. The repair will only be carried out by authorised Bianchi dealers who have already been provided with the necessary spare parts and information on the correct replacement procedure. Affected customers should contact their local Bianchi dealer directly to arrange an appointment for the replacement. The safety of riders is the top priority, which is why the replacement should be carried out as quickly as possible. Bianchi does not provide any information on the exact duration of the repair, but in most cases the replacement of the stem/handlebar unit should be completed within one workshop appointment.
