With the AMS Hybrid 177 TM, Cube has created a consistent E-Enduro that really picks up sporty trail fans. Low weight, super handling and great equipment make the bike a trail tip. Lots of riding fun and downhill power at a fair price! However, the smaller, permanently installed battery can be a big minus on long tours or in everyday life.

For years, Cube e-mountainbikes had a clear, uniform character: easy to control, comfortable and suitable for everyday use. With the new AMS 177, the industry giant strikes a more radical note. The E-Enduro is surprisingly consistently designed for trail fun and downhill power. To achieve this, Cube installs the battery firmly in the down tube and limits itself to the smaller and lighter 600 series battery. This results in clear losses in handling in everyday life, when charging and in everyday life.
The result is an absolutely heavy weight. Our test bike in size L weighs 21.7 kilos. With downhill tyres on the rear wheel, thick X2 shock and 38 mm Fox fork, mind you. A weight that hardly any other comparable E-MTB can deliver in this price range. Of course, the full carbon frame also contributes to this. Most other power eMTBs from Cube come with an aluminium rear triangle. The mullet set-up is also rare on the classic bikes from Cube.

The Bosch motor, on the other hand, is set. The AMS Hybrid 177 also features the tried-and-tested Bosch Performance CX, which delivers up to 100 Nm of torque and 750 watts of power. Our The latest test of the Bosch Performance CX shows that the classic motor is not a thing of the past. Its good modulation and high efficiency with a long range speak in favour of the Swabian unit. The smaller 600-cell battery may not achieve record ranges, but compared to other systems with the same battery capacity, the CX performs above average.
The balanced riding position, on the other hand, is typical Cube and remains as pleasing as ever. You sit in the centre, but not too far forward, on the lightweight speedster. This means that even long tours and flat sections are no problem. On really steep climbs, you have to steer the AMS 177 a little more actively, as the front can get a little light. The short chainstays and moderate seat angle are responsible for this. On the other hand, there is no lack of traction and motor thrust; all in all, the E-Enduro from Cube climbs solidly.
However, its strengths definitely lie on the downhill. Here, the 177 impresses with really fun handling - with plenty of reserves at the same time. While other E-MTBs in this suspension travel class are rather sluggish and sluggish on flat and tame trails, the new Cube can be lively from one corner to the next or pulled into the air for a jump or manual. The low weight is just as much a part of this as the moderate wheelbase, the chainstays, which are not too long, and - very importantly - the very defined rear suspension.
Small bumps are absorbed very sensitively, which provides a lot of traction. However, the rear suspension handles the mid-travel well. The more active the riding style, the more you appreciate this support and the very predictable behaviour.
The bike also has enough reserves for rough impacts. However, the duel partner provides plush, soft comfort and the feeling of massive suspension travel Rose Slab Plus even more. Super pleasant: On our test drives, only the rich whirring of the Conti tyres could be heard, the chassis and drive remained absolutely quiet.
