You have to look at this e-bike several times. Is Mondraker now coming up with an innovative fully with integrated shock? No. The eye-catching frame construction turns out to be a hardtail, but the special design is intended to make it particularly comfortable. With an entry-level price of 4199 euros, the Mondraker Prime is aimed at both off-road beginners and everyday e-bikers.
Mondraker offers the Prime in two versions: The classic hardtail Prime is aimed at sporty off-road riders, while the Prime X also comes with everyday features such as integrated lighting, mudguards, front and rear pannier racks and a kickstand - and is therefore positioned as a versatile all-rounder for the city and trails. A category that has established itself as "SUV e-bikes".
Mondraker has completely redeveloped the aluminium frame for 2026. The manufacturer promises World Cup-level standards: the slim stealth alloy frame with polished weld seams is based on the same DNA as the brand's race bikes. The updated Forward Geometry is designed to optimally centre the rider and thus ensure balanced handling and maximum control.
A sloping top tube and low standover height make it easier to get on and off the bike. And the very striking design of the rear triangle should ensure comfort. This compliant frame construction is designed to absorb bumps better than classic designs. At the front, 120 mm of suspension travel provides additional comfort.
The centrepiece of the Prime is the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5 Smart System with up to 100 Nm torque (tested here!). The system is controlled via the Purion 200, which combines a small display and control button directly on the left handle. The simplest solution in the Bosch portfolio.
Particularly noteworthy: Mondraker equips all Prime models with the 800 Wh battery as standard - the largest Bosch battery currently available. The integrated battery can be removed for charging and is fitted with an aluminium cover. An optional 250 Wh range extender can further increase the range.
The size M/L is new, meaning that the Prime 2026 is now available in five sizes: S, M, M/L, L and XL. The finer gradation is intended to enable more riders to achieve an optimum fit. A concept that the Spaniards have already rolled out on other bikes in recent years.
Prime and Prime X are each available in two equipment variants. The Prime X costs 4199 euros, the Prime R 4599 euros. The fully equipped counterparts each cost 300 euros more. So 4499 euros for the Prime X and 4899 euros for the Prime XR. While the more affordable versions are fitted with Rockshox Recon Silver suspension, the more expensive models have a Fox AWL with 120 mm travel.
With the revised Prime X, Mondraker is positioning itself in the growing segment of sporty E-MTBs that are suitable for everyday use. The unique frame design is definitely an eye-catcher. However, the prices are not super favourable for a hardtail. However, all models come with the top Bosch motor with a large battery and ample range.
