Bulls developed the frames in the Cologne Tech Centre and equips both models with extensive everyday features. The concept is intended to transfer the versatility of car SUVs to two wheels - without adopting their disadvantages.
The Iconic series is positioned between classic trekking bikes and robust mountain bikes. The full-suspension Iconic EVO FS uses mono-link swing arm technology and costs from €5,199. The EVO 1 hardtail model starts at 3,599 euros. Both bikes use the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen5 motor with up to 100 Nm torque and PowerTube batteries with 600 or 800 Wh. The EVO FS can carry a total weight of up to 150 kg and has a lowerable seat post. The EVO 1 offers 120 mm front suspension travel and MonkeyLink 2.0 interface.
The Iconic EVO FS is based on a full-suspension aluminium frame with mono-link swing arm technology. This rear triangle construction is designed to effectively compensate for unevenness and is also low-maintenance. Enlarged bearings and a rigid construction promise a long service life. The frame is available either as a classic version or with a low step-through.
The full equipment includes a dropper seat post with handlebar lever operation. This dropper post makes it easier to get on and off the bike and increases safety when stopping. The permissible total weight is 150 kg and offers reserves for rider and luggage. "With the Iconic EVO FS, we have redefined the comfort aspect of an SUV e-bike," explains Johannes Koch, Product Manager at BULLS.
The fifth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX motor with Smart System delivers 85 Nm of torque as standard and can be increased to 100 Nm with a performance upgrade. Power is supplied by fully integrated Bosch PowerTube batteries with 600 or 800 Wh capacity. The Smart System enables extended connectivity functions and updates.
The EVO 1 dispenses with the rear suspension and relies on an air suspension fork with 120 mm travel. Large-volume Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres should also ensure comfort on gravel and cobblestones. The Monkey-Link 2.0 interface enables inductive charging of smartphones and integrates MonkeyLink Twinlight rear lights into the system.
The full-suspension EVO FS features the MonkeyLoad system for transporting luggage. A bright LED lighting system with brake light at the rear, generous mudguards and a robust kickstand complete the everyday equipment. These components should make the bike equally suitable for daily rides and longer tours.
The EVO 1 focusses on efficiency and low weight. Despite its hardtail design, the suspension fork and tyres promise sufficient comfort for different surfaces. The developers at the BULLS TechCentre in Cologne have integrated innovative details such as MonkeyLink technology for modern connectivity.
The Bulls Iconic EVO FS will be available from ZEG dealers from mid-November. Prices start at €5,199 for the 600 Wh version. The EVO 1 is already available and costs from €3,599 with a 600 Wh battery. Both models are available in different frame sizes and geometries.
The EVO 1 offers two colour options: pebble grey and dark chrome silver. Customers can choose between step-through, trapezoid and diamond frames in four different sizes. Availability via ZEG specialist dealers should ensure comprehensive support and maintenance.
