With the new Sinus FS, Winora is entering the terrain of full-suspension e-bikes and is therefore aimed at comfort-orientated cyclists. The concept? A frame with a low step-through and 80 mm rear suspension travel and a 100 mm front suspension fork. There are also 27.5-inch tyres with a width of 60 mm, which means that the e-bike seems to be equipped for all uses on different surfaces. At 39 cm, the step-through frame is particularly low, while the width of 12 cm promises additional comfort when getting on the bike. A lowerable remote seat post is another argument in favour of comfortable riding on the new Winora Sinus FS.
Winora uses the following drive systems the currently most powerful Bosch motor of the Performance Line CX generation (here in the big BIKE test). This delivers a maximum torque of 85 Nm and should therefore also provide powerful support on inclines or with luggage. Power is supplied by an 800 Wh PowerTube battery with the latest cell technology from Bosch. This can be removed horizontally from the frame, which promises easy handling. The position of the charging socket on the upper frame tube also enables convenient charging without removing the battery. Depending on the model variant, either the Kiox 300 or the larger Kiox 500 in combination with the LED Remote is used as the control unit and display.
A special feature of the Winora Sinus FS is that you can choose between two different drive concepts. The top model R5f Pro uses a Gates CDA belt drive, while the X12 version is equipped with a classic derailleur system.
Winora makes this flexibility possible through interchangeable dropouts on the frame without the need for fundamental changes to the frame construction. The belt tensioner is also integrated into the frame. This solution allows you to choose between the advantages of a low-noise, lubrication-free belt drive or the tried and tested derailleur system, depending on your personal preference.
When it comes to safety, Winora relies on comprehensive equipment for the Sinus FS. The top-of-the-range R5f Pro model features Bosch eBike ABS in combination with a Magura braking system, which is designed to provide additional control and safety when braking. We have already scrutinised the braking system in detail in our test.
Regardless of the model variant, a four-piston brake system with large 203 mm discs is used on the front and rear wheels. This should ensure reliable deceleration even with a heavy load or on fast descents. The lighting system from Litemove on the R5f Pro offers a high beam with up to 210 lux and an integrated, sensor-controlled brake light.
Winora has equipped the Sinus FS with practical transport solutions for everyday use and touring. There is a front carrier with a 3 kg load capacity and KlickFix adapter on the front wheel, while a MIK system carrier with a maximum load capacity of 15 kg is mounted on the rear.
This combination enables versatile loading options for bags, baskets or other items that you want to get from A to B. A clever detail is the cable routing through the stem and headset. This solution keeps the handlebar area tidy and leaves space for other accessories that can be mounted in place of the front carrier. The headset itself is visco-damped and has an integrated block lock, which is intended to increase steering precision and prevent unintentional turning of the handlebars. An optional SP Connect adapter can be retrofitted to the stem to securely attach smartphones or navigation devices.
Winora offers the Sinus FS in two equipment variants. The Top model Sinus FS R5f Pro is available with belt drive, ABS and the most comprehensive equipment for 5999 euros. The variant Sine FS X12 with derailleur gears and without ABS costs 5499 euros.
