With the MTC 120 Corratec has redesigned its SUV fully. The frame with a fixed cable duct in the down tube is ideal for mechanics. Cyclists are more likely to the new Bosch CX motor with a large 800cc battery to keep you in a good mood. Like its competitor from Centurion, the Corratec SUV is orientated towards mountain bikes. A comfortable saddle, easy-rolling tyres with a rather closed profile and the solid pannier rack also set touring-oriented accents. Particularly practical for everyday use: the Corratec C-Finder. The system is based on an air tag integrated into the frame. This allows the bike to be located via Apple's "Find my network". A good idea, even if Android users are unfortunately left out.

When riding the Corratec, the wide handlebars are striking. In keeping with the sporty brand image, the Raublinger also favours a more stretched riding position. The long wheelbase gives the bike good directional stability, but for tight bends you have to set clear impulses when steering. So a confident off-road athlete? Not quite, because the tyres and suspension are limiting here. The rear in particular is too progressive. It is hardly possible to utilise the full suspension travel, as the bike's suspension is often a little stiff.
Plus points for the dropper post and the high level of riding safety thanks to the geometry. Nevertheless, the Corratec feels much more comfortable in everyday use and on tours with mixed terrain. Here the tyres shine with a smooth ride and defined feel, the pannier rack is the best in the test, the rear light has a brake light function and thus increases safety in road traffic. We were also impressed by the equipment and workmanship of our test bike. The Expensive 11-speed cues shifts crisply, from the display to the mudguards to the gears, everything was perfectly adjusted. That's what we would like to see on all bikes.
The Corratec is a smooth-running, well-equipped and neatly finished tourer. However, the sporty riding position will not suit every taste and the rear suspension is stiff. Nevertheless, the MTC 120 cuts a fine figure for tours with off-road sections and for everyday use. - Barbara Merz-Weigandt, Editor-in-Chief MYBIKE
