When the BIKE Youth Camp took place for the first time in 2003, nobody could have imagined the impact the event would have on the promotion of young MTB talent in Germany for 20 years. For four days, young cross-country mountain bikers can learn from the best of the best, as Ghost not only travels with the original World Cup truck, but also has world-class professionals and coaches with them. Training, autographs, joint rides with the sport's idols - all this is also available in the 20th year of the Ghost Bike Cross Country Youth Camp. The anniversary is also a premiere: for the first time, the BIKE editorial team will be reporting directly from the event in a live blog.
The Ghost BIKE Cross Country Youth Camp is regarded as an important stepping stone on the way to becoming a professional racer. Big names such as Georg Egger, Leonie Daubermann and Simon Schneller have used the camp and the network behind it to kick-start their own careers as athletes. No wonder, as top athletes such as Anne Terpstra and riding technique aces such as Tomas Slavik accompany the camp participants. Riders from the BIKE Junior Team, such as German champion Dennis Krimmel and European champion Elias Hückmann, also regularly mingle with the young racers in Sankt Englmar and provide valuable tips.
The star line-up from Ghost Bikes is rounded off by other key figures on the road to young success: from the team manager to the personal riding technique coach of the top athletes to the World Cup mechanic, there are all kinds of opportunities to ask burning questions and get advice from experts during the Ghost BIKE Cross Country Youth Camp. BIKE editor Jan Timmermann will be on site to show the children and young people how a BIKE magazine is produced. In various workshops, participants will be able to help fill the live blog themselves.
