Gravel bikers should make a note of Gravel Peaks in their diaries! From the creators of legendary events such as the TOUR-Transalp and the BIKE-Transalp comes a spectacular new format in 2026 that combines a sporting challenge with shared experiences. Gravel Peaks integrates the trend theme of gravel biking into the beautiful landscape of the Alps and offers bikers a unique experience with like-minded people in addition to a pinch of racing. The six-day stage event will celebrate its premiere from 11 to 16 May 2026. Registration is now open.
It's not just about cycling - it's about freedom, adventure and getting off the beaten track. The Gravel Peaks expands our portfolio of spectacular stage events in the Alps. It's more about experiencing, persevering and arriving together - with a campfire atmosphere instead of podium pressure. - Delius Klasing Events, Organiser
The Gravel Peak route leads through the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps without any high alpine character. Daily stages of between 80 and 100 kilometres appeal to all skill levels. Gravel Peaks is an event for sporty gravel bikers, but clearly focusses on the "riding experience". Each day takes gravel bikers through impressive regions and charming trails. The timekeeping covers at least a third of the daily distance. For example, individual uphill sections are timed, but the stopwatch does not run at the subsequent viewpoint and there is plenty of time for souvenir photos. The best riders in various categories will be honoured at the finish each day. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 500 bikers, which emphasises the high-quality character of the event.
With a diverse and varied afternoon programme, Gravel Peaks participants will also have plenty to do off the route. Gravel bikers can look forward to music and regional highlights from the stage towns. On arrival, the Gravel Lounge offers relaxation, fellowship and culinary highlights. The regional catering culture is part of the overall experience: daily changing local specialities and barbecue events with vegetarian and vegan food options will make hungry bikers' mouths water. Joint pasta evenings and various after-ride formats give the gravel community the opportunity to socialise. Tired legs benefit from massage services and deluxe bike support is on hand to help with technical problems. Of course, there will also be an opening and closing event with a party.
Behind Gravel Peaks is an experienced organisation team that involves the participants in the event with transparent communication, for example in their own WhatsApp group and information website including tracking. Individual participant support and the high-quality service approach naturally also include luggage transport, catering for the route and finish line as well as technical and medical care. A freely selectable accommodation concept allows participants to choose between a hotel or camping, for example.
The BIKE Transalp will not take place in 2026. But: "Bikers don't have to miss out on a fantastic multi-day event in the Alps in 2026," says BIKE editor Jan Timmermann. "Gravel Peaks promises to bring passionate cyclists together in the most beautiful setting imaginable. I'm looking forward to riding my gravel bike through the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Europe - and to an unforgettable time with like-minded people."
