The new Smartphone holder Smartgrab 360 from SKS uses a so-called scissor technology that automatically clamps smartphones. The holding arms grip the device at the top edge and are designed to prevent side buttons from being pressed unintentionally. According to the manufacturer, the system works with all common smartphone models.
The mechanism integrated into the holder enables 360-degree rotation. This allows users to use the smartphone in portrait or landscape format, which can be a particular advantage for the navigation view. The smartphone rests on a rubberised and ribbed platform, which is designed to provide a secure hold and a certain degree of shock absorption. A clamp attachment fixes the mount to bicycle handlebars between 22.2 and 35 mm in diameter. The mobile phone can be easily removed from the holder with a flick of the wrist.
SKS Germany produces the mobile phone holder, whose construction consists of stainless steel and plastic components, at the company's site in Sundern. The scissor technology was developed there. Product Manager Nikolas Bosen explains: "Our aim was to develop a particularly robust mobile phone holder that offers maximum safety and specifically prevents the power and volume buttons from being pressed."
