The BIKE Transalp is a mountain bike stage race across the Alps. In 2024, 7 challenging and energy-sapping days await the participants once again - and impressions and experiences await that will probably remain in the memory for a long time to come. Mona Schick and Philipp Weiß will form a team and compete as Team Diasporal Alpen Challenge.

The BIKE Transalp is an annual MTB stage race across the Alps. Together with Diasporal, we have created the Diasporal Alpen Challenge. A team that has never competed in the BIKE Transalp is to be given the opportunity to take on the challenge in 2024. And not unprepared, of course. To get through the 7 stages, we have thought of something. The team not only gets the team starting places, but also performance diagnostics with a training plan and a bike fitting. Plus team outfits, of course.

We in the editorial team were overwhelmed by all the applications. But we could only choose one team. We say: Congratulations Mona Schick and Philipp Weiß, you are our Team Diasporal Alpen Challenge, you are riding the BIKE Transalp 2024 - and we will be there with you.

  2. Imst - Nauders
  3. Nauders - Lake Reschen
  4. Lake Reschen - Bormio
  5. Bormio - Malé
  6. Malé - Valle del Chiese
  7. Valle del Chiese - Arco

After the first email saying "You are our team for the Diasporal Alpen Challenge at the BIKE Transalp", Mona and Philipp were initially sceptical and a little disbelieving. When do you ever win anything? Really, us? And there were lots of questions. At the first online meeting, the joy was palpable and all the greater.

If you give us a plan, we pursue it with great determination. Unfortunately, since then it's mainly been learning plans, why not something sporty... Besides, we both always need a goal in mind - the BIKE Transalp would be great for next year.

Mona Schick, 25, is studying law in Munich. She enjoys spending her free time in the mountains and loves being in the saddle of a bike. Her love of cycling began on a racing bike, but later Mona realised how much more varied trails are. That's why she now does both. And she loves both. In winter, she likes to swap her bike for touring skis.

Speaking of skiing, Philipp and Mona met at the ski school, where they both work as a ski instructor. Since then, they have favoured skiing together, often following the motto: Philipp has an idea, Mona has no choice. The usually big grin on her face reveals that the idea was a good one.

Philipp (24) is studying dentistry in Innsbruck. As you might guess, he spends a lot of time skiing in winter. In summer, he is usually out cycling or kitesurfing. As a bike guide, many impressions simply whizz past him and he only realises them afterwards when he looks at the pictures. It's different with his own tours. The idea of taking part in the BIKE Transalp has been buzzing around in his head for some time. He has found a partner in Mona and with BIKE and Diasporal the dream is becoming reality.

Now they are both fired up for the upcoming Diasporal Alpen Challenge.
