The Maxxis BIKE Transalp route of the 25th anniversary edition comprises a total of 17,527 metres in altitude and 496.97 kilometres. Race director Marc Schneider describes the route as "fast and dirty, epic and enchanting, unexpected and exciting". So - as things stand today - it's off to the start in Nauders in a fortnight' time.
In the run-up to the event, Petra and Nico from Freeride Inc. Tips on tyre selection or - almost more importantly put together a perfect playlist. The two of them have already tackled the best parts of the Transalp route in advance and put the top 4 trails under their tyres. They started in Nauders, continued via the Schöneben Trail to Reschen, then checked out Bormio 360, the trails on the Gavia Pass and Ponte die Legno! The result is a 12-minute best-of: the big Maxxis Bike Transalp trail check.
Of course, the panorama, the mountains and the trails are wonderful in themselves. But with our video trail check, participants can already check out what's on the Transalp in terms of riding technique in addition to the mere kilometres and metres in altitude. And if - quite by chance - this has whetted anyone's appetite to take part: There are still a few places left, and it is still possible to take part in the BIKE Transalp 2023!
We have provided all the information about the BIKE Transalp and, above all, altitude profiles for all stages in this article: BIKE TRANSALP 2023: The route for the anniversary transalp
