Two outstanding points characterise the BIKE Transalp 2024, with the Zugspitze towering in the north. It is not only the highest point in Germany, but also a dominant giant on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitzarena. The Zugspitze towers majestically, and those who start in Ehrwald look up in awe at the rock bastion that rises into the sunny sky above the valley. At the other end lies Lake Garda, a place of longing that combines a Mediterranean climate with rugged mountain scenery like no other. Although the mountains on Lake Garda are not particularly high in Alpine dimensions, they look all the more impressive from the shore, which is only 70 metres above sea level.
The route of the BIKE Transalp 2024 is not short of highlights either. The challenging Marienbergjoch awaits the participants on the first day, followed by the Via Claudia Augusta, an old Roman road, on the second day. On the third day, exploring the 3-country enduro trails is on the programme. The fourth day offers an epic tour around King Ortler, followed by the spectacular Gavia Pass on the fifth day. The breathtakingly beautiful Malga Movlina on the Brenta captivates the participants on the sixth day, before they experience the flowing trails on Malga Ringia on the seventh day. And that's just a small part of the adventures on this extraordinary route. Magical places are strung together like pearls on a necklace - sometimes large and mighty, sometimes small and inconspicuous, but always surprising and breathtaking. All in all, simply outstanding.
The BIKE Transalp 2024 starts on Sunday, 14 July in Ehrwald/Tyrol and ends on Saturday, 20 July at Lake Garda. The route data:
