While the trails north of the Alps are only just drying out and the trees are only just turning leaf in early April, South Tyrol is already one step ahead. It's no coincidence that we at BIKE have been celebrating the start of the e-MTB season with our trail camp at Lake Kaltern for several years now. At just 200 metres above sea level, the south-facing valley is spoilt by the Mediterranean sun early in the year. At the same time, the region boasts a variety of trails that are not too difficult. The once challenging climbs can be enjoyed all the more thanks to e-power.
In addition to us from the BIKE editorial team, we have two exciting partners on site this time, Radon Bikes and Schwalbe tyres, who will be presenting the latest test equipment for you to try out. And they will be on hand to answer all your questions about testing and technology. You won't just be able to ride state-of-the-art e-mountainbikes in the car park, you'll be able to try them out on the trails for a whole day.
The professionals from the guiding team "Die Rasenmäher" from Garmisch are taking over the management of the camp for us. With Scott athletes Karen Eller and Holger Meyer at the helm, the crew brings a wealth of experience and ensures the right mix of trail fun, team spirit and laissez-faire. With a maximum of eight participants per guide and different levels of difficulty from beginner to expert, we make sure that everyone feels well looked after at our camp.
In addition to the fun on the trails, we don't want to miss out on your physical well-being. South Tyrol regularly presents itself from its best side at our camps. At hearty lunch stops, you can fortify yourself with dumplings and Schlutzkrapfen, and after the tour we let the Kalterer wine run to top form for all those interested and enjoy the perfect blend of South Tyrolean lifestyle and Italian dolce vita together with you. We look forward to seeing you!
