Clever tools and practical accessories have always been Topeak's hobbyhorse. With the Turboflow Valve Kit The Taiwanese have once again come up with something particularly innovative. An external core replaces the classic Presta core and should not only improve the airflow, but also prevent clogging of the innards.
Topeak promises a three times higher air flow with the Turboflow. But the valve also has its advantages in terms of handling. If necessary, the external core can simply be unscrewed by hand and the core itself should also be easier to open.
Topeak supplies a small tool for fitting, which should make it particularly easy to fix the valve in the rim bed. Three lengths should cover the MTB, gravel and road application areas.
This makes the tubeless setup fun. The Turboflow Valve really comes up trumps in terms of handling. The rubber seal fits well into the rim bed, the O-ring and knurled nut glide smoothly over the valve stem and a small tool helps to tighten the valve - it couldn't be better.
The external core is easy to unscrew and just as easy to open. Because it reacts quite sensitively to pressure, you have to be a little careful when attaching and removing the pump. The air flow is great, you can already feel how much air flows into the tyre when inflating with the floor pump. Our measurements can only confirm this impression.

| Protection against clogging (30%) | 2,0 |

The Turboflow delivers the best compromise between high airflow, low weight and easy handling - a small tool helps with assembly. The external valve core can be unscrewed without tools, is compact, but still allows filling with sealing milk and a good airflow. Cleanly finished and inexpensive to purchase, no other valve offers a better price-performance ratio.
To find out which valve offers the best airflow, we carried out extensive series of measurements. However, the effect can be most clearly demonstrated directly on the wheel. The basis is a 29 x 2.4 inch MTB tyre, which is inflated to 2.0 bar using a digital pressure gauge. In several runs, we measured how much air escapes in five seconds when each valve is fully open.
While all Presta valves - with deviations of +/- 2 per cent - are in the range of 34.1 per cent, twice the amount of air flows through the Topeak valve in the same time. At Stan's we measured an air loss of 78 per cent, at Reserve 87.4 per cent. The coreless Muc-Off achieves 100 percent air flow, which means that after five seconds there was no measurable pressure left in the tyre. This makes it by far the best tyre in this comparison.
