Look presents a complete series of new gravel pedals. The focus on the special needs of gravel bikers and bikepackers is particularly exciting.

Look introduces a gravel-specific pedal range that has been specially developed for use on gravel tracks and is intended to set itself apart from previous off-road pedals. The range comprises three series: X-One-G for racing with 120 g (GTi) and 145 g (Max), X-Track as a double-sided universal pedal with a large contact surface and X-Venture for bikepacking with click and platform side. All models are SPD-compatible. Prices start at 49.90 euros.

With the new product line, the French manufacturer is abandoning the approach of adapting existing mountain bike pedals for gravel. Instead, Look has developed three technically different solutions that are tailored to the specific requirements of the gravel discipline. The entire range works with the classic SPD system and should be available from March 2026.

X-One-G: One-sided construction for racing

The X-One-G racing series combines road pedal efficiency with off-road durability. The top model X-One-GTi weighs just 120 grams per pedal and uses a 53 mm long titanium axle. The contact surface for the sole of the shoe should be slightly larger than with classic XC pedals. The milled aluminium body is made from recycled material and saves additional weight thanks to the one-sided binding mechanism. For comparison: While the X-One-G weighs 240 grams as a pair, the XC version of the Shimano XTR pedals weighs 320 grams. Two ball bearings, seals and a steel plain bearing form the bearings.

The X-One-G Max uses a chromoly axle instead of titanium and weighs 145 grams. At 650 mm², the contact surface remains identical to the lightweight version with a titanium axle. The spring tension of the patented click mechanism can be adjusted to adapt the click-in and click-out to the rider and terrain.

Russell Finsterwald tested the pedals in racing use. He describes the combination of road pedal efficiency and MTB release mechanism as suitable for gravel racing. Above all, the minimalist design should offer little contact surface for mud.

X-Track: Double-sided universal pedal

The X-Track series remains in the programme as an all-round solution. The double-sided system offers a contact surface of 515 mm² and weighs from 145 grams per pedal. The mechanism works identically on both sides, which should make it easier to get started. Depending on the model variant, carbon bodies, titanium axles or aluminium components are used. The X-Track is available in three versions: Race, Race Carbon and Race Carbon Ti.

The axle design utilises an inner metal bushing and two sealed bearings. A double sealing system with O-ring on the end cap and labyrinth seal between axle and body protects against water and dust. The release force can be adjusted between 6 Nm and 14 Nm.

The compact design with free space between the body and the mechanism is designed to deflect dirt and mud. Look tested the X-Track pedals in more than 15 tests, which are said to exceed ISO standards. The tests include fatigue testing, repeated impacts, UV exposure and salt spray. On the test benches, the pedals ran for weeks under a 90kg load and completed tens of thousands of click-in and click-out cycles.

X-Venture: Bikepacking with hybrid design

The X-Venture series replaces the previous trekking category. The hybrid design combines an SPD-compatible click side with a platform side. The platform side uses moulded pins for increased grip. Bulky reflectors, as known from the previous versions, are no longer used, instead Look favours a slim profile.

The X-Venture+ weighs 190 grams per pedal and uses an aluminium body with a width of 77 mm. The pins are made of aluminium and integrated into the body. The X-Venture has a composite body with a width of 84 mm and weighs 200 grams per pedal. This version offers integrated reflectors for road use.

Both Combi pedal models work with the Look mechanism, which allows tension adjustment between 5 Nm and 10 Nm. The bearing corresponds to the X-Track series with two ball bearings, seals and steel plain bearings. The wide contact surface is designed to offer comfort over long distances.
