In the midst of the 3D wave in the saddle sector, the Italian accessories brand presents three classic models with foam padding that focus on weight. The Argo R1 Light and Antares R1 Light models are aimed at ambitious cyclists, while the Aliante R1 Light is designed for carefree days in the saddle. The new models are based on a carbon-reinforced nylon shell and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) padding. In the interests of lightweight construction, Fizik has dispensed with a cover, but promises a non-slip surface. The frame is also made of carbon.

Like its sister model, the Argo Light stands out with its short-nose design. According to the manufacturer, this should allow you to adopt a more aggressive and aerodynamic riding position on a road bike.

In terms of weight, the Race saddle comes in just behind the Aliante Light at 149 grams. The model, which is also designed for competition use, weighs just 122 millimetres in the 140 millimetre version, making it the lightest seat in the new Fizik series.

The Antares Light is said to offer the most comfort of the new models. Compared to the racing models, it is slightly wider and longer, but also remarkably light at 144 grams.

As usual, Fizik offers the new products in two widths: The Argo and Aliante Light are available in 140 and 150 millimetres, while the Antares Light comes in 145 and 155 millimetres. Recesses in the saddle cover naturally help to save weight on the one hand. On the other hand, the design is intended to reduce pressure on the perineal area. At 199 euros, each model costs exactly the same as its heavier counterpart. The saddles are available now.
