The Raion - a new all-round saddle from Italian manufacturer Prologo - is available in two sizes: 135 and 145 millimetres. The range of use is particularly broad: commuters and city bikers, MTB riders, gravel bikers or road cyclists - virtually all cyclists can feel addressed by the 65 euro comfort saddle.

Prologo is expanding its range with a new model that focuses on comfort and sustainability. The new Raion saddle is aimed at cyclists who are looking for a versatile saddle for different purposes. With a compact length of 245 millimetres and an ergonomic T-shaped design, the Raion is designed to offer maximum comfort on a variety of surfaces - from urban commutes to gravel and light off-road terrain.

The saddle features Prologo's patented Active Base System, which has a central recess covered by a thin layer of padding. According to the manufacturer, this system improves pressure distribution, reduces pressure peaks and prevents numbness, which ensures a balanced and comfortable riding experience in all situations. The Raion is available in two different widths: 135 millimetres and 145 millimetres to suit different body sizes and preferences.

Prologo Raion Allroad saddle: Two options

The Raion is available in two different widths, which are tailored to different needs. The 135-millimetre version weighs 272 grams and, according to Prologo, is particularly suitable for riders who prefer more freedom of movement or have a narrower pelvis. The wider 145-millimetre version weighs 283 grams and has additional padding. It is designed to offer better support and optimum weight distribution - the ideal choice for anyone who wants more comfort on longer rides. Both versions are equipped with comfort-orientated padding and have a unisex shape that is suitable for different riding styles and disciplines. The saddles are equipped with a 7 millimetre diameter Re-Steel frame and have a flat shape for a balanced riding position.

Focus on environmental friendliness

Sustainability is at the centre of Prologo's All-Road line, and the Raion continues this approach. The saddle is manufactured with a base made from recycled nylon and has a Re-Steel frame. Other components such as the foam and cover are also made from recycled materials. Despite the use of these more environmentally friendly materials, the manufacturer promises no compromises in terms of quality, durability or performance.

Although the Raion is positioned as an entry-level model in the Prologo range, it remains true to the design, attention to detail and technical approach that characterise the Italian brand. The saddle is part of the extended all-road family, which also includes the Akero R and Akero R PAS models (255 x 150 millimetres) as well as the more comfort-oriented Akero R 160 and Akero R PAS 160 versions (160 millimetres wide).

The most important details about the affordable saddle

The new Prologo Raion is characterised by its flat shape, which is designed to enable a balanced riding position. The central recess in the saddle, which is covered by the Active Base System, aims to reduce pressure on sensitive areas and thus increase riding comfort. The 135-millimetre version weighs 272 grams, while the wider 145-millimetre version is only slightly heavier at 283 grams. Both models are equipped with a Re-Steel frame with a diameter of 7 millimetres, which is made from recycled materials. The compact length of 245 millimetres makes the saddle particularly manoeuvrable and versatile. The Raion complements Prologo's existing all-road range, which also includes the ultra-light Feather II grips made from recycled EVA foam, which, according to the manufacturer, are particularly suitable for use in mountain bike races.

The new Prologo Raion is now available in both width variants on the official website www.prologo.it and from selected authorised dealers at a retail price of 65 euros.

Even more saddles from Prologo

Alongside the launch of the new Raion saddle, Prologo is also renewing its NDR saddle line with four new lightweight and comfortable models specially developed for cross-country and marathon mountain biking. The updated range includes round, semi-round and flat saddles: the new Dimension R2 NDR, two versions of the Nago NDR - with and without a central cut-out (PAS) - and the new Scratch NDR PAS, the open version of the iconic T-shaped model.

All new NDR models share technical features that are of particular interest to off-road riders on trails and mountain bike routes, but also to road and gravel enthusiasts looking for high-performance saddles with increased comfort. These include a wider and flatter saddle tip for a larger contact area when pedalling in an aggressive, forward leaning position, three millimetre thicker padding made from next generation variable density foams for improved comfort and Grip Cover technology, a new saddle cover material that improves stability on the saddle and increases bike control.
