The new Spur V2 wants to position itself between cross-country racer and trail fully. Transition has given its second-generation downcountry bike more suspension travel and equipped it with new detail solutions. The carbon frameset costs 3,399 euros, the XT-Di2 version 7,999 euros.
The Flex-Stay design remains the centrepiece of the Spur V2. The design relies on targeted rear suspension flex instead of additional bearing points and is intended to combine direct feedback with additional traction. The revised kinematics work progressively: sensitive response behaviour at the beginning of the stroke, stable support in the mid-stroke range and high reserves on bigger hits.
At the rear, 120 millimetres of suspension travel are available. The progression curve is designed to reduce bottoming out and provide even support over the entire suspension travel. According to the manufacturer, the characteristics of the first generation have been further developed without changing the basic idea.
A FOX 34 Float SL with 130 millimetres of travel is used at the front. Transition has customised the frame and kinematics specifically for this fork. The geometry can be customised using the FlipChip: The head angle changes by 0.5 degrees and the bottom bracket height by 7 millimetres. This means that the bike can be varied between race-ready directness and additional smoothness. Transition sees the spectrum of use ranging from XC races and downcountry terrain to more demanding trail laps with technical descents.
Practical details also take centre stage. The integrated B.O.O.M. Box offers storage space in the down tube. Cables and lines run completely internally; new head tube ports are designed to minimise noise. A component called the "Loam Hat" protects sensitive areas from dirt and moisture. The internally accessible pivot hardware is designed to facilitate maintenance work and at the same time protect the bearings from dirt. Transition describes the riding behaviour as agile, lively and cornering-friendly - with direct feedback from the ground.
The Spur V2 is available as a carbon frameset in the colours Nightshade and Frostberry, each in sizes S to XL. The price is 3,399 euros. The complete Spur Carbon XT Di2 version is equipped with electronic gears from Shimano and costs €7,999. Both versions will be available in Germany and Austria from mid-March 2026.
