The new Hepha Trekking 7 radiates seriousness and sportiness. It looks compact with its 27.5 mm tyres and the strong, distinctive frame with high-quality workmanship. Everything makes a solid, pleasing impression. Even when trying it out: well-balanced position, wide, slightly curved handlebars, composed handling with a focus on straight-line stability. The display and menus look fresh, are very clear and easy to read. The motor matches the powerful appearance of the Hepha Trekking 7: It is powerful, albeit at times rough (adjustable via app), and stoically pulls up even steep inclines - 100 Newton metres sends its regards!
The 25 mm lockout can still be optimised, and the derailleur system matches the forward thrust, but has the classic problem with powerful motors: it often bangs when shifting gears. However, the 4-piston brakes, the responsive, torsionally stiff, easily adjustable suspension fork and the robust carrier with low rails and spring flap are also a hit. It seems that the Bavarians listen when e-bikers explain what their bike should have. Direct sales give Hepha a clear price advantage - and a service disadvantage: there are currently only a few service and maintenance dealers in Germany for this really good bike for € 2999.
The sporty design Hepha Trekking 7 Ultra* is a clear recommendation. If you like to go on longer tours and enjoy a relaxed, sporty ride on hilly terrain, this is a bargain. An all-round harmonious concept.
