Crossworx presents the Pace290, a full-power e-mountainbike with 170/160 millimetres of travel for enduro use. Just last summer, the bike manufacturer from Thuringia sent its first light e-MTB into series production: the Trip290 with Bosch SX drive, a light trail bike with 140-millimetre suspension.
Now it's time for the premiere in the power e-bike terrain - with the beefed-up Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 750 watts of peak power and 100 Nm of torque, a 600 Wh Bosch Powertube battery and the option to add a 250 Wh range extender to the frame triangle.
Crossworx has been manufacturing hand-welded aluminium frames in-house since 2019. Fine milling marks and hand-welded details are the hallmarks of the Thuringian company, which claims to have developed the Pace290 for demanding terrain. With its precise rear triangle and low centre of gravity, the Pace290 is designed for riding fun and maximum control, with rough descents and steep, technical climbs both on the specification sheet.
The latest version of the Bosch CX provides powerful propulsion. Since its power update, the drive delivers 750 watts of peak power and 100 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful drives on the market. It sets new standards in terms of sensitivity and modulation, especially in the new E-MTB Plus mode.
Crossworx relies on a supported single pivot with 160 mm travel for the Pace290. As with the Trip290, the shock linkage on the Pace290 has now been reversed compared to the Dash and Lite models - instead of being pulled, it is pushed. This change is intended to reduce the bearing load and increase stiffness.
The 230 x 65 mm damper sits centrally in the frame, while the space-optimised routing creates room for the steel spring element. A sag indicator on the rocker arm shows the currently utilised suspension travel and simplifies the suspension setup. Thanks to the UDH standard, the Pace is prepared for the installation of Srams transmission drivetrains.
The geometry of the E-Enduro is moderately modern - with a 480 mm reach, 641 mm stack, 455 mm chainstays and a 79 degree seat angle. Only the 65 degree steering angle is based on somewhat more conservative values.
As Crossworx uses the "small" Bosch Powertube battery with 600 Wh on the Pace290, you have the option of pimping the range with a range extender: the PowerMore unit provides an additional 250 watt hours of power and can be fitted as an alternative to a second water bottle. The main battery can be removed for charging. The 3D-printed battery cover allows the battery to be removed without tools.
The Pace290 is available as a frame kit or complete bike. In addition to the aluminium raw look, Crossworx offers six other colours as well as all RAL Classic shades in matt and gloss. All components can be customised in the configurator. Orders can be placed immediately. Crossworx needs around four weeks for a bike in Radiant Raw and six weeks for powder-coated versions. For the past five years, the company has been producing a total of seven bike models entirely in local production facilities in Thuringia.
