Some customised bikes at Eurobike 2025 definitely deserved even more attention. The Goobz Éclair combines four different materials into one e-MTB. And what a bike!

Hand-welded in the south of France! That alone would make the Goobz Éclair something special. But this wicked bike definitely has even more special features that make it a real eye-catcher. The frame is a wild mix of carbon, titanium, steel and aluminium, making it anything but ordinary.

The material mix in detail: The rear triangle is made of steel, Reynolds 853 to be precise, including 3D-printed elements. The seat tube and top tube are made of carbon, connected by a CNC-milled aluminium part. The down tube is made of titanium, with the welded head tube area and the motor bracket coming from the 3D printer.

Of course, with so much speciality, a high-pivot rear end is a must. The Goobz Éclair provides 160 millimetres of travel. On the show bike at the Eurobike in combination with a steel spring shock absorber.

Hidden in the down tube: the motor

But now comes a possible damper for purists: There is a motor in the bottom bracket area. Perhaps it helps that the new Maxon Bikedrive Air S is probably the most compact power motor ever. Weighing just two kilos, the Swiss e-bike motor is said to deliver 90 Newton metres and up to 620 watts. The 400 Wh battery is concealed in the slim down tube and the bike is prepared for the Maxon range extender with 250 Wh. In future, the new Maxon battery with 600 Wh will also fit into the titanium down tube.
