The latest addition to Lapierre's E-MTB range merges the categories. With plenty of suspension travel, it smells of enduro power, but a moderate geometry and easy handling should make the bike suitable for touring and moderate use.
The central element of the Overvolt AM CF is a completely newly developed carbon frame. The engineers rely on a mixture of different carbon fibres. According to Lapierre, this combination should provide an optimum stiffness-to-weight ratio and at the same time ensure controlled compliance - important for grip and responsiveness in technical terrain.
Weighing just 2.9 kg for the size M frame (without shock), the Overvolt AM CF is positioned in the lightweight segment. The frame is designed for 170 mm travel at the front and 165 mm at the rear and has internal cable routing and reinforced areas at critical points.
Lapierre has taken the design from the in-house GLP III Enduro-Racer were inspired. This is particularly evident in the horizontal damper position, which offers several advantages: it enables a greater dropper post insertion depth of up to 170 mm, optimises cable routing and increases stiffness and steering precision thanks to the revised positioning of the pivot point.
The shock, specially tuned by Lapierre, offers increased mid-stroke support. This should enable efficient acceleration out of corners without compromising control on steep or technical sections - a classic balancing act for all-mountain bikes.
Lapierre has opted for the Bosch Performance CX drive, with 100 Nm torque, up to 750 W maximum power and 400 % support. The top model 10.8 uses the Performance Line CX-R - a variant specially developed for competition situations with even more direct power delivery in aggressive race mode.
All models are equipped with a replaceable 800 Wh battery as standard, which is compatible with Bosch PowerMore for an even greater range. The CFD-optimised motor cover is designed to improve cooling performance and ensure constant power under continuous load. The Kiox 400C display with mini-remote rounds off the integrated cockpit.
Lapierre takes a moderate approach to the geometry concept. At 65 degrees, the head angle is rather steep for a bike in this suspension travel class, which should give the bike good-natured and agile handling. Interesting fact: The bike is supplied as standard in a mullet configuration (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear), but has a flip chip with two positions. This allows bikers to optionally switch to a full 29 setup and precisely adapt the riding behaviour to the terrain and riding style.
The flagship with Bosch Performance Line CX-R drive, Shimano XTR Di2 shifting group with Auto Shift and Rockshox ZEB Ultimate suspension. Developed for riders who make every second count.
Combines the standard CX drivetrain with SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type wireless drivetrain and Rockshox ZEB Select suspension. High-quality performance within the same carbon architecture.
The entry-level version with Bosch Performance Line CX, SRAM Eagle 90 T-Type and Rockshox ZEB Base suspension. Retains the full 800 Wh battery capacity and all geometry features.
