The BIKE Festival in Willingen has officially started. Together with Willingen's mayor Thomas Trachte, Delius Klasing Managing Director Tim Ramms opened the 25th anniversary of Germany's largest bike festival on Friday lunchtime. The expo at the foot of the Ettelsberg opens its doors for the 25th time this weekend and is still the Mecca for mountain bike fans when it comes to checking out the latest trends, testing bikes or watching the pros in action-packed races on the track. The list of highlights is long...
The Shimano Gravel Ride offered the participants the ideal preparation for the marathon on Saturday on the almost 40 km long route - or simply a beautiful tour through the mountains of the Hochsauerland. In between, the riders were rewarded with great views and a break at the hut. If you want to take part next year, you can find here all info.
It was action-packed on the course as the riders completed their first training session for tomorrow's iXS Downhill Cup. Due to the changeable weather, many riders arrived back at the expo with mud-covered clothing, but of course they still had fun.

The BIKE Academy offers workshops for mechanics throughout the weekend, where you can learn a lot about a wide range of technical topics relating to MTB. Where? Directly at the BIKE stand opposite the festival stage.
With its numerous stands, the festival site offers something for all visitors. Many manufacturers present special parts, the latest technology or bicycles in customised paintwork.
Like this one here, the Scott Spark RC. However, this is not just any mountain bike, but the Cape Epic bike of MTB star Nino Schurter. We revealed why it is in Willingen and what will happen to it in our festival live blog yesterday.
Of course, the latest bikes on show in Willingen can be tested. Simply go to your favourite manufacturer and ask whether your desired MTB is currently available in the right size.
