Does your mountain bike feel sluggish? Do you get shaken up on rough trails or does the bike bob when pedalling? Often it's not the suspension itself, but the wrong setting. Optimally tuned suspension gets the best out of your bike and makes every trail a pleasure - whether uphill flow or fast-paced downhill action.

What you can expect in our workshop

At BIKE, we test countless mountain bikes every year and each one needs the right setup. In our 45-minute online seminar, we, as BIKE testers, guide you through the most important steps for the perfect suspension set-up together with the expert mechanics from Lucky Bike:

Set the suspension fork correctly:

  • Determine and set the optimum air pressure / SAG
  • Correctly adjust the rebound damping (rebound)
  • Understanding and adjusting compression damping (Compression)

Set the damper correctly:

  • Optimise air pressure / SAG on the damper
  • Adjust rebound damping for perfect traction
  • Understanding and adjusting compression damping

High/Lowspeed - complex damping settings:

  • Fork and shock: How the two components interact optimally
  • Understanding the difference between high and low-speed damping
  • Separate settings for different driving situations: When does it make sense?
  • Experimenting on the trail: Why it's particularly worthwhile for the suspension
  • Fine-tuning for different areas of use: Trail, Enduro and E-MTB
  • Use platform modes correctly
  • When is a suspension tuning from a professional worthwhile?

Topics in our panel discussion:

Why the right SAG and rebound are so crucial. Fine tuning via tokens and progression: Find out more about volume spacers (tokens) in the air chamber, how they influence the characteristic curve and when progressive or linear suspension makes sense. Plus the service and maintenance points that keep your suspension long-lasting. We explain the most important service intervals, warning signals for upcoming maintenance and how to optimise the care of your suspension between services.

Who is this workshop for?

  • All mountain bikers from hardtail to fully to E-MTB who want to get the most out of their suspension

Secure your place in our hands-on workshop and learn how to adjust your fork and shock like a pro. After the tutorial, you will be able to confidently adjust your suspension to any trail and riding style.

NOTE If you are unable to attend the tutorial date, you can also watch the recording of the tutorial again as an "absent" participant (but limited to four weeks).

We look forward to seeing you!

Adrian Kaether's favourite thing to do is ride mountain bikes on bumpy enduro trails. The tech expert and bike tester knows all about Newton metres and watt hours, high and low-speed damping. As test manager at MYBIKE, Adrian also likes to think outside the box and tests cargo bikes and step-through bikes as well as the latest (e-)MTBs.
