The I:sy E5 ZR F CX Century is a more or less perfect compact e-bike. Its range of use is not limited to the city: touring is also possible.

The I:sy is already something of an icon of the e-compact bike and has recently been completely updated. You can tell: experience makes the difference. The small e-bike is right at the forefront when it comes to harmonious handling: great, safe, smooth running despite good manoeuvrability, high load capacity, classic, compact appearance. The frame itself is beyond reproach. Here, too, there is a rear triangle that can be opened for the belt with a large axle mount. Inside sits a five-speed hub that harmonises well with the usual powerful and sensitive Performance Line CX from Bosch.

Some people might wish for a little more than five gears, but they are fine for the city. But the I:sy also tempts you to go on a tour: the panniers hang on the second railing with a favourable centre of gravity, albeit mostly behind the axle, which is why we wouldn't push the 27 kilos to the limit for good handling. Our front carrier is fitted with a Klickfix adapter - the range of Klickfix attachments is huge, with everything from dog baskets to child seats for the rear. A treat for "late-comers": The Fuxon front light not only delivers 100 watts, it also switches to high beam with a full 150 lux at the touch of a button on the handlebars.

Our I:sy E5 ZR F can boast a fine Brooks leather saddle and Ergo leather grips. Fine details, but we recommend more weather-resistant components for long-term everyday use. The folding pedals should definitely be included - with the handlebars in a lengthways position, the bike becomes a space saver in the garage. Our test model for 4999 euros is a real showcase of performance - from the brakes to the lighting system to the Brooks saddle. Only the comfort is rather second-class in this configuration - but of course there are also suspension seat posts in the I:sy programme.
