Polish rider Slawomir Lukasik from the Yeti/Fox Factory Team secures a home win at the second round of the UCI Enduro World Cup in Bielsko-Biała. With a total time of 23:26.591 over five stages, he distanced Jack Moir by 6.040 seconds. Gregory Callaghan completes the podium in third place. In the women's race, Canada's Elly Hoskin benefited from a crash by Raphaela Richter (GER), who had been leading until then, and rode to victory in 26:46.980.
Lukasik laid the foundations for his triumph on the first stage. With a time of 4:30.014, he took the lead over three seconds ahead of Gregory Callaghan. Daniel Booker, the winner of the first World Cup round in Pietra Ligure, was unable to build on his performance from the opening race and ended up in fifth place after the first stage. Lukasik extends his lead on the second stage. He sets the fastest time of 6:27.456 on the Dziabar stage with an elevation gain of 485 metres. Louis Jeandel moves up to second place overall, while Booker falls further back.
Lukasik also retains the upper hand on the third stage, but only just ahead of Marco Osborne. Jack Moir returns with the fastest time on stage four and moves up in the overall standings. However, Lukasik confidently defends his lead and secures overall victory with the second-fastest time on the final stage. The Pole thus also takes the lead in the overall standings. Moir completed a strong recovery with his second place, while Callaghan finished third on the podium.
In the women's race, there was initially a duel between the German Raphaela Richter and Elly Hoskin. Richter wins the first and fourth stages, but a crash on the last special stage, in which she probably dislocated her shoulder, destroys her hopes of victory. She had to retire from the race shortly before the end. Hoskin seized the opportunity and drove to her first victory with a lead of over 45 seconds. Ella Conolly from Great Britain secured second place ahead of Morgane Charre from France. Ella Conolly takes the lead in the overall standings.
