The Cycling Esports World Championships have been given a permanent place in the racing calendar. The UCI and the MyWhoosh platform have set 15 November 2025 as the date for the final. The Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi will provide the setting for the decision for the rainbow jerseys.
The final brings together the best 40 athletes who qualify for the final round via qualifying races and semi-finals. 20 male riders and 20 female riders will compete against each other in the capital of the Emirates. The winners will receive the prestigious title of UCI World Champion and the rainbow jersey that goes with it.
The qualification system gives athletes worldwide access to the World Championships. Qualifying races and semi-finals will determine the participants for the live final. The UCI plans to publish detailed information on qualification routes and the exact format in the coming months.
The structure follows the tried and tested scheme from the previous year. Athletes must first prevail in regional qualifying races. The semi-finals reduce the field of participants to the final 40 who will be travelling to Abu Dhabi.
MyWoosh will continue to provide the platform for the Esports World Championship in the coming year. The organiser will contribute to the further development of the event. The platform offers athletes and fans an intense experience by combining the spirit of cycling with the excitement of esports.
Abu Dhabi hosts a number of prestigious cycling events. These included the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships this year. In the future, the UCI Road World Championships 2028, the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships and the UCI Track Cycling World Championships 2029 will be held there.
