After the Gravelbike Standert gravel works for the gravel track the Kreissäge road bike is the German manufacturer's second new product in just a few weeks. According to the Berliners, the new road racer is intended to complement its competition-orientated sister model, the Kreissäge RS. However, the New Kreissäge also puts the rider in an emphatically stretched seating position, as is typical for classic competition bikes. For frame size 56, Standert quotes an STR quotient of 1.43.
The most important new features include fully integrated cable routing and greater tyre clearance compared to its predecessor. A maximum of 35 millimetre wide tyres can now fit through the frame and fork. The old model, which is still listed in the online shop, is limited to 30 millimetre tyres.
Ex works, the new Kreissäge rolls on 30-millimetre tubeless tyres from Pirelli. Other new features include a one-piece carbon cockpit from our own Lucky Cat brand, a wider bottom bracket shell (T47) and a UDH standard rear derailleur mount.
As is typical for the Standert brand, the frame is based on aluminium. Like the majority of the industry, the hip brand from the capital uses a 6061 alloy. A size 54 frame, including seat clamp and UDH derailleur hanger, should weigh a little less than 1600 grams. According to the manufacturer, the carbon fork weighs 360 grams. Depending on the equipment variant, Standert quotes complete bike weights of 8.2 or 8.8 kilograms.
The Standert Kreissäge has been available in two specifications for a few days now: the top model for 4749 euros is built with Sram Force AXS and carbon wheels from DT Swiss, while the basic version for 3549 euros comes with Shimano 105 Di2 and aluminium wheels from DT Swiss. For the time being, Standert does not offer a frame set for self-assembly.
