The first question is quickly answered: no. The BIKE Women Camp will not be moving, because there is no more perfect location for this event than the Dolomiti Paganella Bike Park. And of course there are reasons for this. Here are the 7 most important ones:
It's not as if you could crank your bike INTO this rock bastion. But: the iconic rock towers jostle their way into the background of every camp snapshot and look incredibly spectacular in Insta posts. But the Dolomite giants can do so much more: they tower up to 3173 metres into the sky and therefore reliably keep all the low pressure from the south-west at bay. As a result, we usually have the best weather during the camp days.
"When I see this lake, I don't need Lake Garda anymore," a camp participant once said. And she was probably right. Lago di Molveno is much smaller and lies at an altitude of 864 metres - significantly higher than Lake Garda (65 m). This makes its water a little fresher in terms of temperature, but also much cleaner and clearer, as it comes crystal clear from the peaks of Brenta and Paganella (2124 m). Perfect for washing off the dust after a day in the bike park and moving on to the evening programme. However, the best lake moments are experienced when you make it to the first yoga session in the morning during the camp. It's priceless when you've just rolled out your mat on the large jetty and the first rays of sunshine peek over the turquoise-coloured water:
The bike park offers three sections on different terrain levels, with increasing degrees of difficulty. There are 24 very creatively constructed flow, all-mountain and enduro lines and three pump tracks to choose from. In between are countless kilometres of natural single trails (level: intermediate to experts only). And this huge network of trails is in turn interwoven with an almost seamless network of cable cars and chairlifts. This means that the bike park offers all our campers ideal practice terrain and, thanks to the lifts, all their energy can be channelled into improving their own riding technique skills. As already mentioned, the range of trails in the Dolomiti Paganella bike park is huge. So it's a good thing that our all-female camp guides already know which trails they can trust their groups to tackle. However, they don't just want their participants to get down these descents without crashing. Their goals are a steep learning curve, a motivating sense of achievement and, above all, lots of riding fun for all participants. And this is not long in coming for either the blue beginner groups or the freeride-ambitious black groups on the bike park's extremely varied descents.
We were amazed when we travelled to the camp in summer 2024: two freshly drawn lines on the Cima Paganella! We knew that new lines were planned in the bike park, but not that we were allowed to ride them for the first time. Despite the long winter and lots of snow at the summit, the trail construction crew worked hard to get the "Interstellar" and the "Supernatural" ready in time for the camp. And it was an absolute feast: a never-ending, winding pump track. At the top with an incredible panorama, in the forest an exciting but consistently flowing circuit around the tree trunks. The whole thing is draped into the slope in such a way that you almost don't need the brakes. Will we have the honour of a first ascent again in 2025? Something like this has already been hinted at...
And so his first bends, which were of course still a little soft, but all the more grippy:
Okay, experience shows that Italians aren't so good at breakfast, but the rest of the day no other nation can beat them. It's the same at the BIKE Women Camp. Every year we are lured to a very special place for lunch where we are served Trentino specialities. This year, we were taken up to the Rifugio La Roda, where we were served polenta with porcini mushrooms, lots of fresh vegetables and Prosecco from the region, as well as a sensational view as far as Lake Garda.
But even the mobile chefs, who cater for us directly in the camp on the other evenings, serve pizza and pasta just like in a top restaurant. Local winemakers serve up their finest wines to go with it.
After a fulfilling day in the bike park, roll back into camp, simply drop your bike on the grass and sink into a deckchair. You can either have a non-alcoholic beer, a ginger shot or an Aperol Sprizz from the bar. Most of the time, the camp's exhibitors have already provided a few snacks. This is a great way to round off the day. Or you can grab a mat from the BIKE stand and stroll onto the jetty for an evening yoga session. You can also take part in the exhibitors' workshops: Every year, there are experts on various bike topics such as repairs, maintenance, riding technique, nutrition, etc.
Only on the last evening of the camp do all the bikers quickly disappear into their hotel rooms after the tour: They get dressed up for the legendary camp party right by the lake. Every year, it turns into a dance marathon that lasts until the early hours of the morning.
So, no. Such a perfect place cannot and must not be given up again. That's why the next BIKE Women Camp will once again take place in the Dolomiti Paganella Bike Park. Right on the shores of Lake Molveno, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites.
