Cycling into nature and sleeping in the open air - what could be better? However, anyone embarking on a bikepacking trip has to realise that it also involves exhausting days and cold nights. Nemo therefore offers special bikepacking equipment, from tents to sleeping mats, quilted sleeping bags and pillows, which can be packed small and hardly weighs anything on the scales. The Current camping gear from Nemo is one of the lightest in its class and yet should not compromise on sleeping comfort.
The Nemo Dragonfly tent was developed for minimalist tours by bike or canoe. On the bucket list were a small pack size, light weight and high comfort. The special Osmo fabric is made from 100 per cent recycled yarns and does not contain any harmful PFCs or flame-retardant additives. It is said to be characterised by particularly high stability and only expands slightly when wet. "There's room in the smallest hut" - the designers have come up with an ingenious space concept so that the saying also applies to the Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack Osmo. A ridge pole and steep inner tent walls are designed to provide generous headroom. The two-person tent promises plenty of weather-protected storage space for equipment thanks to an asymmetrical vestibule and additional guy lines. The so-called "landing zone", a removable gear tray with protection against moisture and dirt, is directly accessible from the inner tent.
To optimise the structure of the Nemo Dragonfly Bikepacking tent as easy as possible even after a long day in the saddle, the ultra-light aluminium poles come with colour coding and a special connection system. Short individual elements are designed to reduce the pack size. You can also see from the details that Nemo is familiar with the needs of bikepackers. For example, a pocket is sewn into the roof of the tent, allowing you to use your mobile phone torch as a ceiling light. The tent can be compressed in the pack sack supplied and secured to the handlebars, frame or luggage rack with adjustable straps. Even in the two-person version, the Nemo Dragonfly still weighs well under two kilos.
With a weight starting at 215 grams, the Nemo Tensor Elite weighs less than a stick of butter, making it one of the lightest sleeping pads ever. Thanks to its mummy shape, the sleeping pad saves every superfluous gram. The Tensor Elite is made from 10D Cordura nylon and a single layer of Thermal Mirror insulation. Thanks to the special chamber system, weight distribution, stability and comfort should be at a high level despite the low use of materials. At the same time, the construction is said to be particularly quiet to ensure a restful night's sleep. The thickness of eight centimetres ensures an R-value of 2.4 - which is impressive in terms of weight and pack size! A special valve developed by Nemo is said to be easy to operate and can be inflated using the pump bag supplied.
Never heard of a quilt sleeping bag? For outdoor sports enthusiasts who value light weight, the sleeping system is extremely exciting. The quilt can be rolled up smaller than a normal sleeping bag, used as a blanket in warm weather and even pulled over the sleeping mat for ultimate integration. The Nemo Pulse Quilt is made from 100 percent recycled polyester ripstop material and is part of the recyclable "Endless Promise Programme". The 1000 FP ExpeDRY "gold infused" down filling provides strong yet minimalist insulation. The quilt-style design utilises the insulation of the Nemo insulation mats, promising an outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio. Special chambers ensure even distribution and less material is required. The filling is said to dry much faster than other down fillings. To keep everything together and prevent draughts, the Nemo Pulse can be strapped around the sleeping pad with a fastening system.
