Cube favours 29-inch, carbon and elegantly integrates the battery. The top model with electronic shifting and top components has clear advantages uphill thanks to the large wheels. Despite the low suspension travel, the bike rolls smoothly and with good traction through difficult terrain. The short travel is noticeable, but the bike climbs dynamically. Downhill, the Cube is well-balanced, but on steep climbs you'll wish for a little more travel at the front. This puts a lot of weight on the steering centre and the handling becomes a little unstable. The Nobby Nics, otherwise out of place on the front wheel, work well on the 29er version with its 2.6 mm width. The combination of Bosch motor and Di2 is unusual and makes for a cluttered cockpit. Despite the finest equipment (carbon wheels and handlebars), the Stereo Hybrid is no lightweight at almost 23 kilos. The 300 gram heavier integrated battery takes its toll. At least it is easy to remove and sits without rattling.
CONCLUSION Elegant and very balanced 29er trail bike with little suspension travel but great performance. Visually elegant, high-quality equipment. A success!
